Prospering Safely; Safety & Risk Management Services, LLC has been serving our valued Clients since 1994.  We specialize in occupational safety and health (OSH) consulting for employers large and small in both the general industry and construction fields.  We guide our Clients to achieve a continuous reduction of risk with the goal of Zero Losses by onsite consultation and training.  Our motivational, high-energy, OSH training includes OSHA compliance, risk assessment and risk management, competent person modules, industry best practices, and more.

Fred Straub, Ph.D., MS, CSP, ARM is the owner and principal consultant of Prospering Safely; Safety & Risk Management Services in Millersville, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Straub has over thirty years of professional safety and health experience.  He received his doctorate, masters and undergraduate degrees in Safety Sciences from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  He holds professional designations as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM). 

Dr. Straub was authorized by OSHA as an Instructor for their 10-hour and 30-hour training courses in General Industry and Construction Safety and Health for over twenty years.  He is also a former Adjunct Professor at the Millersville University Occupational Safety & Hygiene Management (OSHM) Program.  

Dr. Straub is a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).  He was the 1997-98 President of the ASSE Central Pennsylvania Chapter.  In 1998, Dr. Straub was recognized as the ASSE Safety Professional of the Year for Region VIII, which encompasses the northeastern United States. 

Dr. Straub started Prospering Safely in November of 1994 with the driving goals of helping Clients reduce risk, prevent all loss incidents to reach Zero Losses, reduce insurance premiums, boost profits, and ensure OSHA compliance.

Our primary services address the reduction of risk related to occupational losses, improved profitability, compliance with regulatory authorities, and instilling a foundational workplace OSH culture via:

1. Onsite OSH hazard analysis and risk assessments, utilizing the all-hazards approach.
2. Development and implementation of Client-specific Safety and Health Management Systems (SHMS), for compliance with ANSI Z10:2012 OHSMS, BSI/OHSAS 18001:2007, OSHA VPP and their 2015 Safety & Health Program Management Guidelines, and ISO 45001:2018 OHSMS.
3. Motivational OSH training conducted at the Client’s training facility in-person or electronically.
4. Assistance with OSHA regulatory actions (e.g. site inspections, citation mitigation, VPP applications).
5. Pennsylvania Fire Safety Expert (FSE) services to the personal care and assisted living communities.
6. Development and ongoing monitoring of Pennsylvania-certified safety committees.
